Adopt A Hydrant

The Sparta Water Utility is reminding City residents if you have a fire hydrant in your boulevard or near your home or business, please help by digging it out so it is visible from the road and that the fire fighters have easy access to it. The 5 or 10 minutes it takes you to do this may help save a life or property. There are 550 public fire hydrants in the distribution system, making it very difficult for staff to get them all cleaned out in a timely fashion. The Utility appreciates the voluntary efforts of the residents.
