Parking Ticket Information
Penalty for a parking ordinance violation is $15.00.
Penalty doubles if not paid within 10 days.
If left unpaid after 30 days, fine increases to $50.00 and your vehicle registrations are subject to suspension.
How to Pay a Parking Ticket
Payment can be paid in-person or by mail to the Sparta Police Department using cash, check, or money order. Please include the citation with the payment when paying by mail or using the after-hours drop box located inside the police department vestibule.
Payments can be made online by credit or debit card below. You will be required to know the ticket number, license plate number, and make/model of vehicle to pay a parking ticket online. This information may be obtained by calling the Sparta Police Department during normal business hours.
*Please note that partial payments WILL NOT clear the ticket or satisfy a suspended registration. If you think you have multiple tickets, or need the amount owed, please call and we can let you know. Also, paying a ticket here does not automatically clear it from the Department of Transportation; it still may take up to 7-10 business days for the satisfaction to process.
If you wish to contest a parking citation, contact the Sparta Police Department to be issued a municipal court date. Municipal court is held Wednesdays at 1:30 pm.
