Parks and Recreation
Play. Learn. Contemplate.
Sparta Parks and Recreation (SPR) provides welcoming and safe opportunities to play, learn, contemplate and build community, and promotes responsible stewardship of the land. We promote healthy people, a healthy environment and strong communities.
SPR manages a 258-acre park system of over 11 parks and extensive natural areas. SPR provides athletic fields, play areas, specialty gardens, and more than 20 miles of trails. SPR also manages many facilities, including the Barney Family Community Center, River Run Golf Course, Sparta Family Aquatic Center, Senior Center, Fitness Center, ten outdoor shelters, and much more.
