The Sparta Free Library connects people, engages their minds, and enriches their lives. At the heart of the The Bicycling Capital of America you will find a 1902 Carnegie Library building, on the corner of Main and Court St. The Sparta Free Library sits on the Historic Four Corners with the Post office (circa 1915), the Monroe County Courthouse (circa 1896), and the Monroe County Museum Complex, previously the Masonic Temple. We serves Sparta, WI and the surrounding communities offering arts, educational programs, technology access and a welcoming place to express creativity.  Recent expansion of the Library has been completed, including larger multipurpose areas for children and adults.

The Sparta Free Library has become “bigger than books — a community home for the arts.
