Election held in even-numbered years on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November to elect United States senators, representatives to congress, presidential electors, state senators, representatives to the assembly, district attorneys, state officers other than the state superintendent and judicial officers, and county officers other than supervisors and county executives.

Polling Place:
The City of Sparta's polling place is located at the Sparta Community Center, located at 1000 E Montgomery Street. This polling place is used for Wards 1 through 14. On election day, the polling place is open at 7:00 a.m. and will close at 8:00 p.m. The polling place is accessible to elderly and voters with disabilities.
Register To Vote:
If you are a resident of the City of Sparta, you must be registered in order to vote. Registered voters who have a name or address change since the last time they voted will need to update their information. You can register to vote until the Friday before the election or you may register on election day. You must reside at your address for 28 consecutive days to be eligible to vote using that address. Proof of residence is required for all voter registration applications. Registration can be done in the City Clerk's office at 201 W Oak Street or by using the WI Voter Registration form, or at MyVote.wi.gov.

Absentee Voting:
If an elector is unable or unwilling to come to the polling place or will be unable to vote on Election Day, they can request to receive an absentee ballot. You can request a Absentee ballot at MyVote.wi.gov or the request can be done in the City Clerk's office.

All Wisconsin voters have a right to cast a ballot privately and independently at their polling place on Election Day. Notice of Meeting of the Local Board of Canvassers:
At the close of voting on Election Day, pursuant to the provisions of Wis. Stat. § 19.84, the Election Inspectors at each polling place will convene as the Local Canvassing Board for the purpose of conducting the local canvass pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 7.51. This meeting will be open to the public pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 19.81-89.
Notice of Meeting of the MBOC to Process Provisional Ballots:
If provisional ballots have been issued and are subsequently cured by the voter before 4:00 p.m. on the Friday after the election, the MBOC must meet no later than the following Monday at 9:00 a.m. to process the cured provisional ballots. This is a public meeting and requires applicable notice.
