The Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) requires the EPA to establish and enforce standards for public drinking water systems (PWS). Beginning in 2020, the Sparta Water Utility began undertaking the initiative to inventory all service line materials connected to the public water distribution system, regardless of ownership status. This includes material not only on the City-owned portion of the service line, but also on the customer's side of the service line. The building type, all building plumbing materials and an appropriate install date(s) and if any treatment is present is also needed to complete this survey.
